In 2015, the Universidad de Montevideo began offering University of London degrees, where students from the School of Business Administration & Economics are awarded a Bachelor of Science in Banking and Finance, Business and Management or Economics and Management, besides their UM degree. Whilst the awarding body is University of London, the London School of Economics and Political Science is responsible for the academic direction of these degrees.
UM students studying a BSc from University of London are assessed under the same academic standards as LSE students. University of London exams take place every year in May and all the course work and exam preparation is done with UM faculty members.
University of London degrees at UM means students will receive the best of both British and local systems of education. Additionally, gaining a degree from the University of London, with the academic direction by the LSE, gives graduates a competitive edge in the job market and opens up further opportunities to work and study internationally.
The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is an international academic benchmark in the area of social sciences, with 16 Nobel Prizes and 34 heads of state among its alumni and faculty. According to QS World University Rankings, the School of Social Sciences and Business of the LSE ranks within the global top 10.
