Sixty-three students from the Netherlands, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Finland, Mexico, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and Norway traveled to Uruguay for their academic exchange semester at UM. On Tuesday, August 1, and Wednesday, August 2, students participated in the Orientation Days, organized by the UM Global Office and the Department of University Life.
Professor Nicolás Etcheverry welcomed the newcomers on behalf of the UM authorities. Then, UM Global representatives presented about the different aspects of the University and Uruguayan culture.

After an outdoor lunch on the patio of the University Central building, they visited the other facilities.
On Wednesday, August 2, students took the Spanish placement test to understand the language better and navigate the subjects they chose better. The students come from universities with which the UM currently has an agreement, encompassing 47 countries and 207 cooperation agreements.
