VUM organized the second episode of "University students take action" of 2022.

Through Volunteering UM (VUM), the department of University life organized a volunteering trip to the seaside village of La Floresta (Canelones), on the 20th and 21st of August, where 42 students participated, Uruguayan and exchange students alike. The main work was in the School Virgen de Las Flores, managed by the Sophia Foundation, in front of the Sanctuary Vigen de Las Flores. There the volunteers got to work on mending and painting the playground, doing maintenance and improving the shrine of the Virgin, and creating a circuit for sports games.

On top of the work at the school, the volunteers had leisure time, during which they participated in recreational sports activities, walks along the town's beach, and, on Sunday, the celebration of Holy Mass in the Sanctuary Virgen de Las Flores.

It was the second episode of "University Students Take Action" of 2022. The first one took place in the city of Minas (Lavalleja) from the 31st of March until the 3rd of April.

This activity is aligned with the SDG proposed by the United Nations (UN) for 2030, particularly with initiative number three of "Health and Wellbeing," regarding the collaboration in repairing the infrastructure to allow the students of the school to access their games and sports within the school's premises in a safe manner.
